Fractional RF Skin Resurfacing

Dreaming of smooth skin with a natural glow? At New Leaf Cosmetic Clinic, we use the Candela Medical eTwo Sublative Fractional Radiofrequency device to transform the surface of your skin.

How does it work?

Radiofrequency (RF) fractional resurfacing is a non-invasive treatment delivering heat to target the dermal tissue (the deeper layer of the skin) while the outer layer of the skin (epidermis) remains relatively intact. This micro-injury to the dermis stimulates collagen production, resulting in a reduction in fine lines, mild to moderate wrinkles, skin laxity, acne and scarring.

On higher settings the treatment has a resurfacing effect and may be used to improve general skin texture and appearance.

What areas of the body can be treated?

Any area can be treated, but we recommend this treatment for the face, neck, around the mouth and eyes, décolletage and hands.

How many treatments will I need?

Although you will likely see noticeable improvement in your skin after your first treatment, most people experience optimal improvement over the course of 3-5 treatments, with 4-6 weeks recommended between sessions.

FAQs

Is there any downtime associated with the treatment?

There is a little downtime associated with this procedure. There may be a mild burning sensation after treatment lasting up to 24 hours. There may also be swelling, especially around the eyes. Tiny scabs typically form 24-72 hours post treatment and may remain for up to a week. They shouldn't be touched or scratched even if they itch and should be allowed to shed off naturally .They can easily be covered with mineral make up

Is the treatment safe and does it hurt?

The treatment is safe and can be used for all skin types, including darker skin types. Minimal warmth and a stinging sensation can be felt during the treatment. After the treatment, redness or a sunburn experience is common. Complimentary topical anaesthetic is used to reduce discomfort during the treatment. Painkillers, such as paracetamol, can be used during or after the treatment and we recommend using mineral make up.

Post care instructions

On the day of the treatment we do not recommend anything other then washing the face with cold water. The next day you can use gentle cleansers, but not scrubs or exfoliants for 7 days. You can use your usual moisturiser, but avoid active ingredients for 5 days. You should use SPF 30+ to protect the treated area from sunlight. For optimum results, we recommend good quality skin care.
