Pigment Reduction & Removal
What are Pigmented Lesions?
Pigmented lesions are common and most often caused by the sun, hormones, injury or age. They include freckles, age spots and liver discolourations, and normally contain high concentrations of melanin (pigment).

How does the treatment work?
The secret lies in the laser technology where focused energy is delivered onto the target areas of the skin. This controlled therapeutic heat removes the pigmented lesions often in a single treatment leaving you with fresh, clear skin.

How many treatments will I need?
A satisfactory result can be seen after only a single treatment, but some people may need 2-3 treatments with maintenance treatments 6-12 months apart.

Does it hurt?
The treatment is generally tolerated well and no anaesthetic is required. Expect that you will wear goggles throughout the treatment.

Pre treatment instructions
Avoid the sun 2-4 weeks prior to treatment and use a sunblock at least SPF 30+ at all times. Recently tanned skin cannot be treated.
The use of tanning skin care products should be discontinued 2 weeks prior to treatment. If you have history of cold sores you may need prophilactic antiviral therapy.

Post treatment instructions
You will experience mild burning sensation (like a mild sunburn) that will last anything from an hour to 24 hours after the treatment. We recommend that you avoid direct sun exposure 2 weeks before and after the treatment, and sun protection at all times with SPF 50+. Sun exposure may lead to hyperpigmentation (darkening) of the treated areas.

New Leaf suggestion for improving you pigmentation
Apart from being very sun aware, we recommend adding some of our Synergie products to you skin care routine, such as Vanish Serum, Vitamin C uberzinc and Vitamin A. Also, we suggest Brightening Peels as an adjunct to your treatment.
