Rosacea/Diffuse Redness

What is Rosacea?

Rosacea is a condition that is characterised by facial redness especially around the nose, chin, cheeks, and between eyebrows. People with this condition are constantly flushed or have broken capillaries or acne like rash on the face. The skin is usually burning or stinging. It is a very common condition affecting 1 in 20 people..

It is treated with first and foremost avoiding the trigger ie alcohol, certain foods, extremes of weather, sun. Lifestyle changes & appropriate skin care are very important in treating the Rosacea as well as Laser treatment and LED light.

How does the Laser treatment work?

The LASER heats up the heamoglobin on the treated areas. Heat transfers to the blood vessel walls, causing contraction and destruction of the blood vessel. The destroyed blood vessel is eliminated by phagocytosis (the body’s inbuilt removal process via the immune system).

How many sessions do I need?

Typically 6-8 treatments, 2 -4 weeks apart.

In many cases, the visible signs of improvement can be immediate.

Rosacea, unfortunately, may reoccur, thus maintenance with single treatments may be required

Does it hurt?

Most people find this treatment comfortable and with no pain.

Is it a safe treatment?

We use an FDA approved GentleMax Pro LASER. This is 100% safe and many thousands of treatments have been performed over the years worldwide.

What is the downtime or recovery?

There is no downtime. There is slight redness and heat on the face after the treatment. This will ease within a few hours.

Using appropriate skin care during the treatments is important. Gentle face wash, Vitamin B from the Synergie Practitioner range, moisturiser and Synergie Minerals are some of the products that we will recommend.
