Biostimulating fillers are not "just another filler". but they are cosmetic injectables primarily used to stimulate collagen production and to improve the structure and quality of the skin.
With aging, the collagen content of the skin will decrease, leading to saggy and loose skin. Biostimulating fillers are an injectable treatment that stimulates your own skin's collagen and elastin production, leading to naturally fuller and firmer skin. The results are gradual, natural and long lasting for up to 24 months.
Biostimulating fillers have been around for a long time, but they are going through a renaissance now, emerging back onto the market due to a shift in aesthetic medicine towards a more natural look.
The treatment is suitable for any part of the body, with most popular areas being the face, neck, hands and décolletage.
In New Leaf, we have 3 different types of Biostimulating fillers: Radiesse, Sculptra & Profhilo.
How many treatments will I need?
Typically, a collagen treatment program with Biostimulating fillers consists of 2-3 treatment sessions over a few months, but it can vary from person to person.
Post care instructions
The treated area may be bruised and with some of the Biostimulating filers, it is very important to massage the area for 5 days after the treatment as there is a very small risk of nodule formation.
What will be better - Biostimulating filler or a Dermal filler?
If saggy and loose skin is what is bothering you, then Biostimulating filler could be the right choice. On the other hand, if you are bothered by a specific facial feature, a Dermal filler could be preferable.
